IQ by Hattrick FC
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
IQ by Hattrick FC (“IQ”, “we”, “us”) is a coaching dashboard operated by Hattrick Football Coaching, based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This policy explains what information we collect when you use IQ, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using IQ you agree to this policy.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to coaches who hold an IQ account, team managers granted limited input access by a coach, and visitors to our website at iq.hattrickfc.com.au.
2. Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and the team/club, league and age-group details you provide when signing up. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile picture from Google.
- Coaching data you enter — the information you choose to record in IQ, which may include player names and squad numbers, training attendance, session reflections, ability and character assessments, notes, fixtures, results and game minutes.
- Payment information — subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details; we receive a customer reference and your subscription status from Stripe.
- Referral information — if you enter a referral code when you sign up, we record that code and who referred you, so we can credit them. This is optional.
- Technical information — basic data needed to operate the app, such as authentication tokens stored in your browser.
- Notification data — if you switch on phone notifications, we store a device “push subscription” (an anonymous token issued by your browser or device) so we can send you reminders. It contains no message content and you can turn it off at any time.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the IQ dashboard and its features to you.
- To create and secure your account and verify your subscription.
- To generate the reports, graphs and exports you request.
- To pull public fixture, ladder and opposition data from third-party providers for the team you link.
- To contact you about your account, billing or important service changes.
- To send you optional reminders — by email, and by phone notification if you enable it — when a training session or game has not been logged. You can turn these off in Settings.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use the coaching data you enter for advertising.
4. Players and minors — please read carefully
Many players a coach records in IQ are children. We take that seriously, and we ask coaches and clubs to as well.
- Authority and consent are the coach’s responsibility. When you enter information about a player — including any player who is a minor — you confirm that you have the appropriate authority and consent to do so, including consent from a parent or guardian where required by your club’s policies or by law. You should record only the information you reasonably need for coaching and development.
- We process player data on the coach’s behalf. Player information is entered by the coach and processed by us to provide the service to that coach. We do not contact players, do not use player data for marketing, and never sell it.
- Access is restricted. Player data is access-controlled at the database level (row-level security) so a coach can only see their own squad’s data, and a team manager granted input-only access cannot see a coach’s reflections, ratings, results or analytics. We hold this data carefully and apply extra care because it concerns young people.
- Parents and clubs can ask the coach or club that holds the data, or contact us, to have a player’s information reviewed or removed.
5. Team-manager access
A coach may grant a team manager a limited, input-only login to record attendance and game minutes. Team managers cannot access a coach’s reflections, ratings, results, ladder or analytics — this restriction is enforced at the database level, not just hidden in the interface.
6. Service providers
We use trusted third parties to run IQ. These include: Supabase (authentication and database hosting), Stripe (payments), Netlify (website and server functions hosting), Resend (sending account and reminder emails), Google (optional sign-in), and fixture/ladder data providers including TheSportsDB, Dribl and Squadi. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their part of the service. If you enable phone notifications, reminders are delivered through your device platform's push service (for example Apple, Google or Microsoft), which handles the delivery of the notification to your device.
7. Where your data is stored
Your account and coaching data are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Some providers may process data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled securely wherever it is processed.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, server-side access controls and database row-level security so each coach can only access their own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to act promptly if an issue arises.
9. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to export or delete your data at any time by emailing the contact below. Some records may be retained where required for legal, accounting or fraud-prevention reasons.
10. Your choices
- You can review and update your account and team details in Settings.
- You can remove a team manager’s access at any time in Settings.
- You can request a copy of your data, or its deletion, by contacting us.
11. Cookies and local storage
IQ uses your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed, and significant changes will be communicated to account holders.
